Hugh Burden died on the 16th May 1985. And while so much of his work on television has been lost, presumed 'wiped' by the companies that made them, we still have, a few of them. We still have the better-known films. We still have his voice on tape and vinyl. And we still have "The Mind Of Mr J.G Reeder" on DVD and recently, on our TV screens too.
Here's some of the recordings by Music For Pleasure Ltd (1977 and 1989) and The Talking Tape Company (1980).
And if you're really determined like me, you might find the odd interview of the man himself. Such as the one featured in the April 17-23 1971 edition of The TV Times. Reeder was back on our screens after two years, with eight new episodes of Edgar Wallace's finest creation.
